A New Yorker with a degree in business from Georgetown University in D.C., Kristen Joyce headed west to continue studies in fashion merchandising at the Academy of Art. Following a stint managing Danielle Bourhis' Brown Eyed Girl in Presidio Heights, Kristen opened the latest BEG, in Cow Hollow. Focusing on 'tweens, teens and trends, the new store is housed in an adorable pink gingerbread Victorian dating back to 1863, with bright yellow walls and hot pink stained floors. Kristen always has at least half a dozen of the trendiest jeans lines to select from, including Blue 2, Hudson, Von Dutch and Indies. Coming from a family of six girls, Kristen's five younger sisters have become her "little consultants," and with the occasional advice from her teenage sisters Kristen has pulled together an impressive ensemble of the lines everybody is clamoring for: Free People, Monkey Wear, Tractor, Acrobat, Le Tigre and Roxy to name a few. Along with the stellar selection of casual to dressy fashion, BEG sells a wide variety of gifts and accessories, including everything from books and journals, to feather slippers and lingerie.
