At Form Vintage Modern in Oakland, mid-century masterpieces share space with contemporary art, home furnishings and unique gifts. Owner Joe Kunis describes the inspiring mix as "somewhere between vintage and contemporary, but always fresh." A family-run operation now in its fifth year, Joe runs the shop with wife Lindsay Goldberg-Kunis, and their son Jonah makes frequent visits. "We like to blur the perception of new and vintage modern," says Kunis, "so we appeal to people who appreciate pure original mid-century design, as well as those seeking new things." Form Vintage Modern also has a well-edited selection of gift items including modern ceramics, glass, and stainless art and design. Just two years back Lindsay launched the first FVM offshoot: Form Interiors, a real estate staging and color consulting business. Since then she's staged and designed interiors around the Bay, thanks in part to the incredible resources available at Form Vintage Modern.
