At the heart of Valencia's boutique row, Retrofit approaches vintagewear with a wink and a smile. The window displays are masterfully kitschy, and the racks include everything from '40s "Ike" coats to mod vinyl trenches to Members Only jackets (are the '80s retro already?!?). Among Audrey Wackerly's and Alison Hoekstra's specialties are made-to-order tees featuring vintage iron-on transfers. Get the Atari logo on cap-sleeve girly tee, or go classic with a sparkly silver Led Zeppelin transfer on a black-and-white baseball jersey. Roughly 100 decals are available (on the spot or on the website), celebrating TV shows, bands and more, or you can opt for individual letter transfers and spell out whatever message you like. To top off your new look, Audrey creates hats from 1960s patterns under her label The Fit. And for your pad, Retrofit carries a veritable library of Playboy magazines from the '60s and '70s–what coffee table couldn't use a little camp?
